About the Client:
Our client is a North American provider of commercial security solutions, specializing in security shutters, high-security doors, and retrofit glazing systems. Their products are designed to upgrade existing windows and doors to provide enhanced ballistic and forced-entry protection.
They serve a wide range of environments including retail locations, schools, airports, municipal buildings, and other commercial facilities, and operate through a national accounts sales model and dealer network.
Position Overview:
The National Accounts Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with multi-location national and regional customers across the U.S.
This role focuses on achieving sales goals and strategic account objectives by identifying new opportunities within existing accounts and developing new business. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts and engage with corporate-level stakeholders across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and expand relationships with national and regional accounts
Achieve sales goals and strategic account objectives
Identify new product and service opportunities within existing customers
Qualify and develop new customers to grow sales in existing and new markets
Engage with stakeholders across Loss Prevention, Construction, Facilities/Service, Purchasing, and Architecture
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
Act as liaison between customer teams and internal engineering/applications teams
Assess customer needs and identify gaps where solutions can be applied
Coordinate cross-functional internal teams to support national account initiatives
Manage project follow-up including inquiries, technical issues, and timelines
Qualify and define project requirements in collaboration with engineering and production teams
Qualifications:
Strong relationship-building skills with experience in dealer/re-seller environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent prioritization, time management, and self-motivation
Mechanical adaptability and ability to learn technical products
Ability to interpret blueprints and architectural specifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/quoting tools
Education & Experience:
5+ years of National Account sales experience in building materials, glazing, or engineered products
Experience working across departments such as Loss Prevention, Purchasing, Architecture, and Facilities
Experience with door systems, rolling shutters, or window systems (security glazing or ballistic solutions preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Day-to-Day:
Travel to meet with national and regional customers (approximately 50% initially, decreasing to ~25%)
Engage with corporate headquarters and key decision-makers
Participate in product and factory training (including time at the company’s Itasca location during onboarding)
Coordinate with internal teams to support account needs and project execution
Manage customer communication and ongoing account development
Submit monthly expense reports with receipts
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $125,000 – $130,000
Commission: 25% (uncapped, paid quarterly with annual plan structure)
Company credit card provided
Mileage reimbursement (no car allowance)
